Job summary

Balhousie Care Group is recruiting a Chef to lead the kitchen in our care home, delivering nutritious meals and excellent resident service. You will manage stock, design menus, and supervise day-to-day kitchen duties to maintain high hygiene and safety standards.

The role requires experience in a commercial kitchen and reliability, with responsibilities including catering for dietary needs and working within budget constraints.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen environment is required.
• Ideally within a care home setting, but not essential.
• Must be reliable and fully competent in all kitchen duties, including catering for special dietary needs, in line with the agreed budget.
• SVQ/NVQ level 2 in Catering & Hospitality, Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate, and HACCP understanding are preferred.
• PVG check and right to work in the UK are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen team to serve delicious, well-balanced meals for residents.
• Manage food stock and design menus within the budget.
• Ensure the kitchen maintains high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with EHO regulations.
