Job summary

Bath Spa University invites applications for a Part Time Development Manager (Fixed Term). Based at The Studio - Palace Yard Mews, you will design paid development programmes, cultivate income and partnerships, and align activities with the university's KE priorities, delivering impact through innovation.

You will lead Strategic Growth & Income, manage The Studio Innovation Fund rollout, and build regional partnerships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development, programme design, or enterprise support.
• Experience in income generation and partnership development.
• Strong understanding of creative and technological industries.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working in a university or innovation hub setting.
• Familiarity with graduate employability programmes and innovation funding.
• Evidence of impact work aligned with regional economic development priorities
• Experience in managing programmes funded through HEIF or other innovation schemes
• Understanding of KE principles and their role in HE impact and local growth

Responsibilities

• Design and implement paid development programmes tailored to the needs of Studio Residents.
• Develop and launch a paid graduate programme to support employability and retention.
• Create bespoke support packages that leverage paid expertise and consultancy.
• Lead the rollout of The Studio Innovation Fund and support partnerships applying for Boost.
• Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships that align with The Studio’s growth objectives.
• Pivot away from individual support models to scalable, income‑generating initiatives.
• Ensure activities align with BSU’s KE strategy and institutional HEIF plan
• Contribute to reporting and evaluation of KE and HEIF outcomes, including demonstrating impact through innovation, creativity, and partnerships
• Build partnerships that link to regional priorities (see LSIP/ Local Skills Improvement Plan, the Industrial Strategy, and local growth plans)
• Act as a key link between The Studio and the KE teams, enabling the transparent flow of information, opportunities, and impact evidence
• Curate and manage The Studio’s events programme to foster collaboration between Residents, researchers, and the wider Createch community.
• Expand The Studio’s reach through targeted engagement and sector‑specific activities.
• Work closely with the Studio Manager, the KE team, and wider teams to align business development with institutional goals and KE priorities.
• Monitor and evaluate programme impact against HEIF outcomes, KE metrics and other frameworks, ensuring continuous improvement and relevance.
