Job summary

Harris Academy Chafford Hundred is seeking a dedicated German teacher on a part-time basis (0.2 FTE) to cover maternity leave. You will join a supportive team committed to high standards for all students and to developing staff through professional learning.

You will deliver a broad German curriculum across KS3-4, monitor progress, plan lessons, and contribute to the department's growth and assessment practices.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
• Successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally including multi-ethnic urban schools.
• Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning.
• Commitment to equality of access and tutoring responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a broad, differentiated German curriculum for KS3 and KS4.
• Monitor and support student progress as a teacher and tutor.
• Develop resources, plan lessons and contribute to departmental planning.
• Collaborate with colleagues to raise attainment and share best practice.
