Job summary

Harris Academy Chafford Hundred is seeking a dedicated part-time German teacher to cover maternity leave. You will join a committed team supporting students and developing engaging German lessons across KS3/KS4.

The role requires QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant degree, with experience in secondary education and a commitment to inclusive teaching. Flexible working options and professional development are offered.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
Experience teaching at secondary level, ideally in multi-ethnic urban schools.
Understanding of effective teaching and learning, high expectations, and equality of access.
Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4 and lesson planning.
Ability to work in a team and maintain positive relationships with staff.
Good ICT skills and use of interactive whiteboards; create a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities

Implement and deliver a broad, balanced curriculum for students.
Monitor and support progress of students as teacher/Form Tutor.
Facilitate learning opportunities to help students reach potential.
Contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
Support the academy's responsibility for personal and academic growth.
Plan operational and strategic activities including resources and syllabuses.
Participate in curriculum planning, CPD, and performance reviews.
Maintain records and track student progress; communicate with parents and stakeholders.
Fulfil pastoral duties as a form tutor and deliver high-quality teaching.
