Job summary

Harris Academy Chafford Hundred invites applications for a part-time (0.2) Teacher of German to cover maternity leave. You will join a supportive team, deliver a balanced German program, and contribute to student growth in a 11–18 academy within the Harris Federation.

The role requires QTS or equivalent, secondary teaching experience, and a focus on high expectations, safeguarding and collaboration with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
• Have successful teaching experience at secondary level (can be teaching practice).
• Understand the theory and practice of effective teaching and learning.
• Understand the importance of high expectations and equality of access for all students, and of being a tutor.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a broad, balanced, differentiated curriculum for students and support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
• Monitor and support the progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor.
• Facilitate a learning experience enabling students to reach their potential.
• Contribute to raising standards of attainment.
• Support the academy's responsibility to provide personal and academic growth opportunities.
