Job summary

Co-op Group in Nottingham (NG18 1RB) is hiring a part-time Funeral Service Crew member to support families saying goodbye with dignity and professionalism. You'll collect the deceased, bear coffins, drive funeral vehicles, and prepare coffins for viewings, with full training provided.

This role requires a full UK manual driving licence, physical ability for lifting, and empathy for emotional circumstances. On-call rota and varied shifts across Monday to Sunday are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform the physical aspects of the role, including lifting.
• Full UK manual driving licence required.
• Comfort with direct contact with the deceased as part of duties.
• Good IT skills and ability to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from locations in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on funeral day and drive vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and funerals.
• Maintain client management applications and records.
• Safely lift and move coffins following health and safety guidance.
