Job summary

Bournemouth and Poole College is seeking a Lecturer in Foundation Learning to work with students from Pre-Entry to Level 2, including those with special educational needs. The role focuses on teaching Maths, English, vocational and personal skills, with academic tutoring where needed.

The post is permanent and part-time, based at the college, with DBS enhanced checks and right-to-work in the UK requirements. Two posts are being filled.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths or Level 2 Functional Skills are required.
• Degree, professional qualification or substantial industry experience.
• Recognised Teaching Qualification at Level 5 or willingness to achieve it within an agreed timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Teach Maths, English, vocational and personal skills to prepare students for further education and employment.
• Plan and deliver inclusive, high-quality teaching, learning and assessment with strong student progress.
• Sequence learning so students retain and apply knowledge and skills confidently.
• Act as an academic tutor providing academic and pastoral support.
• Contribute to team meetings and curriculum development.
