Job Title: Fire Engineer (Part-Time, Temporary)

Role Details:

This is a part-time role requiring 1-2 days a week, as needed, until 31/03/25.

Are you a skilled Fire Engineer seeking a part-time opportunity to make a significant impact? Our client is looking for a talented individual to join their team as a Fire Engineer. If you have expertise in fire safety theory, good practices, and legislation, this could be the perfect role for you!

Main Responsibilities:

1. Conduct inspections on buildings over 11m in height, working alongside EHOs to support investigations and issue relevant notices under the Housing Act.
2. Assess external wall reports and fire risk assessments for residential buildings.
3. Train non-fire engineer colleagues and provide guidance during inspections and enforcement stages.
4. Establish relationships with stakeholders such as freeholders, managing agents, and residents.
5. Respond to fire-related queries and liaise with enforcement officers and building control surveyors.

Qualifications:

To succeed, you must have an honours degree in fire engineering or a related subject, along with membership grade with IFE. Experience in fire safety enforcement or responding to enforcement by the fire authority is highly desirable.
