Job summary

GCB Recruitment is seeking a Part-Time Finance Officer to join an established organisation in the Fakenham area. The role covers payroll, VAT and supplier payments, with a pro-rata salary of £13,000–£13,500 for 15 hours a week.

You will handle monthly payroll and pension submissions, VAT returns, ledgers, and credit control while maintaining accurate financial records. The position runs 2 days per week, 8am–4pm, in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping, accounts or finance administration.
• Payroll experience and VAT handling are essential.
• Proficiency with Excel and strong numerical skills.
• Ability to work independently in a part-time role.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly payroll and pension submissions
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Manage the purchase ledger and supplier payments
• Handle credit control and outstanding payments
• Complete banking and account reconciliations
• Assist with management accounts
• Support year-end accounts and auditing processes
• Maintain accurate and organised financial records
• Provide general finance and accounts administration as required
