Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking a Part Time Finance Officer for the Supplier Maintenance Team in the Purchases to Pay (P2P) area. The role focuses on setting up and maintaining payee records, ensuring timely and secure payments to suppliers and residents.

You will handle data verification, VAT details, and bank information under council procedures. Educated to Level 3 with P2P and e-invoicing experience, you will work 22.2 hours weekly, with flexible days and one day at County Hall, Chelmsford.

Qualifications

• Level 3 education with English & Mathematics or equivalent
• Knowledge of P2P systems and e-invoicing experience
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Experience with accounts payable/P2P processes and regulations

Responsibilities

• Provide financial support for payments to internal and external customers.
• Contribute to data management of payee records in line with GDPR.
• Verify bank account information to prevent fraudulent payments.
• Support P2P process improvements and respond to complex queries.
