Job summary

Pineapple Careers is partnering with a well-established organisation based in Horsham to recruit a Part-time Finance Manager. This hands-on role suits an experienced finance professional who can own the numbers and work closely with the Directors.

You will produce management accounts, cash flow forecasts and VAT returns, manage ledgers, and help drive financial controls in a SME environment. The role offers 20 hours per week, 24 days leave and a pension, with on-site parking in Horsham.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing a finance function within an SME.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, wholesale or product-based business advantageous.
• Strong management accounting and bookkeeping experience.
• Confident producing monthly management accounts.
• Good understanding of cash flow, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Practical knowledge of UK VAT.
• Experience working with multiple currencies.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Commercially minded with attention to detail.
• Confident communicating financial information to the Directors and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet
• Produce financial reports, KPIs and variance analysis for the Directors
• Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital
• Oversee purchase and sales ledger activity, supplier payments and credit control
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Manage multi-currency transactions, payments and foreign currency balances
• Support accounting processes relating to imports, exports, freight and duty costs
• Ensure stock and inventory are accurately accounted for and reconciled
• Support budgeting, forecasting and year-end processes
• Liaise with external accountants regarding statutory accounts and tax matters
• Maintain strong financial controls, reconciliations and accounting procedures
• Identify opportunities to improve and streamline finance processes

This is a varied position within an established international business, ideal for someone who is equally comfortable producing management accounts, managing cash flow and VAT as well as getting involved in the day-to-day details of the finance function.
