Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting a part-time Facilities Technician for Ratho Early Years. Salary £27,257-£29,850 (pro rata for part time). Hours: 12 per week. Working pattern: Mon-Thu 07:00-09:30 and Fri 07:00-09:00.

You will carry out janitorial and DIY maintenance across one or more buildings, support moves, handle basic security, and help provide an efficient facilities service under the council’s SLAs and policies.

Qualifications

• Carry out janitorial and DIY operations across one or more buildings, from small repairs to general maintenance.
• Support moves and conduct basic security functions.
• Provide an efficient facilities technician service in line with the Service Level Agreement and council policies.
• This post is PVG-regulated and requires pre-employment checks when applicable.
• Work flexibly within a multi-building site and comply with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Equipment and furniture and fittings maintenance
• Building maintenance and services
• Security of premises and grounds
• Grounds maintenance
• Cleaning /Tidying
• Undertake minor maintenance and repairs to equipment in accordance with good practice and procedures
• Undertaking general porterage duties, including moving furniture for events, performances, exams, meetings
