Job summary

Leedon Lower School in Leighton Buzzard seeks a reliable part-time cleaning and handyman assistant to support daily site operations. The role entails cleaning, basic repairs, and reporting maintenance needs with a 10-hour week schedule.

You will work Monday to Thursday, with hours to be agreed, and may act as a keyholder in the Site Agent's absence. A DBS check is part of our safeguarding process.

Qualifications

• Carry out cleaning and handyman tasks as directed.
• Report issues to Site Agent or Business Manager promptly.
• Attend health and safety training including asbestos procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of school-related information.
• Be prepared to cover Site Agent duties in their absence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning work to the standard required by the Authority and as instructed.
• Assist the Site Agent with compliance, security, heating and lighting, cleaning, and porterage.
• Report to Site Agent or Business Manager about repairs or maintenance needs.
• Maintain hand tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Carry out minor or temporary repair tasks as handyman.
• Act as keyholder in the Site Agent's absence when applicable.
• Attend all essential health and safety training including asbestos procedures.
• Undertake lettings as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of school-related matters and prevent disclosure of information.
