Job summary

St Catherine's Catholic Primary School (Hallam) is seeking a responsible cleaner to maintain cleanliness across classrooms, offices, corridors and communal areas. You will vacuum, mop, dust and replenish supplies while following health and safety rules.

Experience in a school setting is preferred, and ability to work well in a team or independently is valued. The successful candidate will support the Catholic ethos of the school and be prepared to operate electrical cleaning equipment and report

Qualifications

• Cleaning experience is essential.
• Experience in a school environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets and communal areas.
• Vacuum, mop, dust, wipe surfaces and empty bins, replenish supplies.
• Operate electrical cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners and floor cleaners.
• Report problems or defects to the Site Manager.
• Support the Catholic ethos of the school.

Job description

Duties will include cleaning classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets and communal areas - vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wiping, emptying bins and replenishing supplies. Our floor coverings are a mixture of carpets and vinyl floors, you need to be able to operate the equipment needed to maintain the floors to a high standard.

You need to be able to work well as part of a team, but manage your own time well.

Cleaning experince is essential, and we would prefer it if you have had experience working in a school.

The successful candidate will:

• Be able to work in different parts of the school, taking pride in the area that has been assigned;
• Be able to follow rules and instructions relating to Health and Safety;
• Be able to operate electrical equipment, e.g. vacuum cleaner, floor cleaner;
• Be able to report problems or defects to the Site Manager;
• Have some experience as a cleaner and be prepared to undertake training;
• Be able to support the Catholic ethos of the school.
