Job summary

Yeovil College in the United Kingdom is seeking a Part-Time English and Maths Teacher to deliver 6 hours per week across SEND and Preparation for Life and Work programmes. You will teach English and Maths, including Functional Skills in workplace and off-site centres, adapt lessons to learners’ needs, assess progress and provide constructive feedback.

This all-year role offers a supportive team, good work-life balance, and opportunities to contribute to curriculum development.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Functional Skills English and maths, ideally within further education, adult learning and a SEND setting.
• A teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards one, with GCSE English and maths at grade C or equivalent; a relevant degree is desirable.
• A passion for teaching and learning, with the ability to engage learners, adapt teaching to individual needs and support strong student achievement.
• Good IT skills, including classroom-based learning technology and Microsoft Office, alongside strong organisation and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a flexible, proactive approach and the confidence to manage challenging situations.
• Access to your own vehicle and willingness to travel to off-site delivery centres, teach at least one evening class per week and attend Open Days and occasional weekends by arrangement.
