Job summary

Yeovil College is seeking a Part-Time English and Maths Lecturer to teach across SEND and Preparation for Life and Work. With only 6 hours per week, the role offers a balanced schedule and all-year-round contract.

You will deliver Functional Skills in workplace settings and off-site centres, adapt teaching to diverse needs, plan lessons, assess progress and provide feedback to help learners achieve goals.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Functional Skills English and maths in FE/adult learning and SEND setting.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one; GCSE English and maths at grade C+; relevant degree desirable.
• Ability to engage learners, adapt teaching to individual needs and support achievement.
• Strong IT skills including classroom tech and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Teach English and Maths to learners across SEND and Preparation for Life and Work.
• Plan engaging lessons and assess progress with constructive feedback.
• Contribute to curriculum development and support learners' next steps.
• Travel to off-site delivery centres and deliver at least one evening class per week; attend Open Days and weekends as needed.
