Job summary

West Huntspill Primary School is seeking a Preschool Practitioner to join our Early Years team. The role supports planning activities, promotes child development, and works closely with the Preschool Manager to deliver a caring and stimulating environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Level 3 Early Years qualification with Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene certificates, and has experience in childcare or education, including parental engagement, under EYFS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate effectively with children, families and colleagues.
• Excellent organisational skills and record-keeping.
• Ability to make and record detailed observations of children's progress.
• Basic IT literacy for monitoring and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning age-appropriate activities and participate in daily routines.
• Monitor and evaluate children’s progress and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with EYFS team, volunteers and external agencies to support families.
• Ensure OFSTED compliance and health and safety policies.
• Maintain resources and equipment for safe operations.
