Job summary

John Lewis Partnership in Saffron Walden is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to bring Waitrose produce to customers’ doors. You’ll join a friendly team, handle deliveries, stock replenishment, and help with shop tasks when not on the road.

The role offers a permanent, part-time schedule of 15 hours per week with a night premium of £3.75 per hour for shifts 22:00–06:00. You must be 18+, hold a full UK B-category licence with up to 6 points, and enjoy delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• Full valid B-category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6-points.
• Great customer service skills.
• Time management skills.
• Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (lifting crates, moving cages).
• Comfortable working independently with self-motivation and adaptability.
• IT literate.

Responsibilities

• Checking your delivery routes for the day.
• Loading and preparing your van for deliveries, ensuring orders are delivered directly to customers.
• Carrying out vehicle safety checks and maintaining road compliance and safety.
• Being an ambassador for the Waitrose brand with excellent customer service.
• Helping customers with their shopping and building rapport based on trust and service.
• Supporting the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks.
