Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Histopathologist to join the Cellular Pathology team at Royal Preston Hospital. The post is part-time (4 sessions per week) with flexible hours between 9:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday, and no on-call commitment.

The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive histopathology service, develop subspecialist interests in line with cancer services, and collaborate closely with other departments to maintain high-quality

Qualifications

• Broad experience in Histopathology within cellular pathology
• Ability to develop subspecialist interests to support cancer services
• Experience in departmental governance and audits

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive histopathology service with no neuropathology reporting
• Develop subspecialist interests to complement cancer services
• Co-operate with Pathology Directorate for administrative and staffing arrangements
• Attend board meetings and participate in resource management
• Oversight of rosters, duties, and staff development
