Job summary

North Lanarkshire Council is seeking a Community Facilities Caretaker to ensure community centres are welcoming, well maintained and safe. You will be responsible for presentation, cleanliness, security and proactive maintenance work across facilities.

The role involves hands-on tasks, minor repairs, and strong admin duties, with a flexible 10–15 hours per week pattern to be set by the line manager. The role offers a pro rata salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in building/equipment maintenance and basic repairs.
• Strong communication and customer-care skills.
• Ability to complete paperwork and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Community Centres to high standards of presentation, cleanliness and safety.
• Identify maintenance needs and carry out minor repairs.
• Provide excellent service and communicate confidently with users.
• Keep accurate records and complete required paperwork.
