Job summary

Dalton Parish Council seeks a highly motivated, honest, reliable and enthusiastic individual to take on the role of Caretaker covering Dalton Parish Hall and Sunnyside Community Centre and undertake general handyperson duties including general maintenance. Must be available to work Sunday, Monday and Friday to meet user demand.

Hours are 10-12 per week with the ability to cover the existing caretaker’s holidays (approx. 6.8 weeks per annum) and sickness.

Qualifications

• Fixed Term Contract for 6 Months.
• Hours: 10-12 per week, Sundays, Mondays and Fridays.
• Travel between community centres and to other locations within the parish.
• Must be able to use email, messages and WhatsApp.

Responsibilities

• Opening and locking down the buildings, daytime and late at night, security & H.S.E procedures, maintenance work, cleaning, setting out tables and chairs for groups and events at the community centres, dealing with members of the public regarding bookings and dealing with contractors.
• General maintenance duties, litter picking in the community and work as allocated by the Clerk.
