Job summary

Gloucestershire’s largest comprehensive school, employing over 200 staff and around 1,800 students, is seeking a part‑time Cleaning Assistant in Cheltenham. You will work 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday 15:30–19:30 (flexibility available), earning £12.71 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a cleaner, housekeeper or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of cleaning systems and basic COSHH awareness.
• Commitment to complete relevant training.
• Willingness to undertake training for health and safety purposes.
• High standards of work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties in allocated areas to required standard and within the allocated time.
• Clean all surfaces, fixtures, and fittings by the appropriate method within the designated area of work.
• Clean all hard and soft floor surfaces using appropriate methods and machinery where necessary.
• Collect and bag waste and prepare it for disposal.
• Check that windows are closed and lights are turned off before leaving the area.
• Use materials and equipment safely, efficiently, and cost‑effectively.
• Ensure all equipment used is cleaned before returning to the stores.
• Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, taking reasonable care of your own safety and that of others.
