Gloucestershire's largest comprehensive school is seeking a Cleaning Assistant to join its team. The role is 20 hours per week, term-time with some deep-clean work during school holidays, and offers flexibility in hours.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties in allocated areas to the required standard and within time.
• Clean all surfaces, fixtures and fittings.
• Clean floor surfaces using appropriate methods and machinery as needed.
• Collect and bag waste for disposal.
• Check windows are closed and lights off before leaving.
• Use materials and equipment in a safe, efficient, and cost‑effective manner.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned before returning to stores.
• Follow health and safety guidelines at all times on premises.

Job description

Gloucestershire's largest comprehensive school with over 200 staff and approximately 1,800 students is seeking a Cleaning Assistant to join its team working 20 hours per week.

You will be working 20 hours per week, 42 weeks per year, Monday to Friday from 15:30:19:30. There is a possibility we can offer some flexibility in hours worked, therefore if you are looking for different hours or work on specific days, please state this in your application. This is term time cleaning role with few weeks of deep cleans being performed in the school holidays.

As The Cleaning Assistant You Will

• Carry out cleaning duties in any area allocated by the Supervisor to the required standard and within the allocated time (allocated areas are subject to change as required).
• Clean all surfaces, fixtures, and fittings, by appropriate method, within the designated area of work (apart from any technical equipment).
• Clean all hard and soft floor surfaces within the designated area by the appropriate method and using machinery where necessary.
• Collect and bag waste and make ready for disposal.
• Check that windows are closed, and lights turned off before leaving the area.
• Ensure materials and equipment are used in a safe, efficient, and cost:effective manner.
• Ensure that all equipment used is cleaned before returning to the stores.
• Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times whilst on the premises and to take reasonable care to safeguard your own safety and that of others with whom you work.
