Gloucestershire's largest comprehensive school is seeking a Cleaning Assistant to join its team. The role is 20 hours per week, term-time with some deep-clean work during school holidays, and offers flexibility in hours.

You will work Monday to Friday and ensure cleaning to standard, with attention to safety and efficient use of resources. The position provides an attractive salary and pension, onsite parking, and various staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a cleaner, housekeeper or similar cleaning role.
• Knowledge of cleaning systems and basic COSHH awareness.
• Commitment to completing relevant training.
• High standards of work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties in allocated areas to the required standard and within time.
• Clean all surfaces, fixtures and fittings.
• Clean floor surfaces using appropriate methods and machinery as needed.
• Collect and bag waste for disposal.
• Check windows are closed and lights off before leaving.
• Use materials and equipment in a safe, efficient, and cost‑effective manner.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned before returning to stores.
• Follow health and safety guidelines at all times on premises.
