Job summary

Sanctuary Supported Living in Helsby, Cheshire is seeking a General Assistant - Cleaning to maintain clean communal areas and assist with light meal preparation within a retirement community. The role is part-time, 20 hours per week, paying £12.71 per hour, with opportunities to develop within a not-for-profit organisation.

The successful candidate will work under a compassionate team, uphold health and safety standards, and provide respectful service to residents.

Qualifications

• Experience with general cleaning duties (desirable)
• Some experience in a domestic or catering environment
• Level 2 diploma in housekeeping or catering, or willingness to work towards
• Good interpersonal and customer service skills
• Basic understanding of health and safety in the workplace

Responsibilities

• Keep communal areas, offices, and kitchens clean and tidy
• Complete all cleaning duties to a high standard
• Report any faults or hazards to maintain a safe environment
• Monitor stock levels and ensure equipment is used safely
• Help prepare meals and drinks while meeting customers’ needs and respecting their privacy and dignity
