Job summary

UPP (Reading I) Limited in Hull is seeking a Cleaner to join our campus team on a permanent part-time basis, working 25 hours per week from 9am to 2pm, Monday to Friday. The role involves cleaning student accommodation areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and common spaces.

You will need prior cleaning experience in a similar environment, good English communication, and strong organisation and attention to detail. DBS checks may apply.

Responsibilities

• Clean designated areas in student accommodation including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and common spaces.

• Empty waste bins and manage rubbish disposal per policy.
• Wash glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils as needed.
• Liaise with residents and UPP staff daily; adhere to Health & Safety policies.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to join our Hull team.

This is a permanent part-time position working 25 hours per week from 9am to 2pm Monday to Friday. The salary is £16,930.65 per annum.

This role will be responsible for cleaning the designated areas for our student accommodation including bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens and all white goods contained in the kitchens.

This will include:

• Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpets, sweep and polish floors and clean stairs
• Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades as appropriate
• Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin store areas
• During the summer season only: Make beds, including stripping and changing sheeting collection of laundered linen from store, bag and pack laundry for collection
• Clean internal and external windows, where applicable
• Clean and wash glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils, as appropriate
• Daily liaison with the residents, Residence Managers and associated UPP staff
• Act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices at all times

We are looking for you to already have experience of cleaning in a similar environment and have great communication and organisation skills, along with an attention to detail and the passion to do an excellent job.

You will need to have a good conversational standard of the English language and an ability to read and interpret our Health & Safety guidance.

You will also be prepared to work (with notice) at other sites if required and additional hours when the need arises, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.

Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory vetting, inclusive of employment referencing covering the past three years and you may be subject to additional vetting and barring checks to ensure your suitability for the role, which could include completing a basic DBS.
