Job summary

UPP is seeking a Cleaner to join our team in Oxford on a fixed-term basis until 1 May 2027. The role is 20 hours per week, 09:00–13:00, Monday to Friday, with a salary of 14,144.90 per annum.

You will clean student accommodation areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and related areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety. We look for candidates with cleaning experience in similar environments, good English communication, and strong organisation.

Qualifications

• Willingness to cover additional hours at peak times.

Responsibilities

• Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms and kitchens to a high standard.
• Vacuum, mop, wash walls and furniture as required.
• Empty waste bins and manage rubbish to bin store areas.
• Clean internal and external windows where applicable.
• Assist with bed making and linen handling during summer season.
• Daily liaison with residents and UPP staff to ensure smooth operation.

Job description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to join our team.

This is a fixed term, untill the 1st of May 2027 working 20 hours per week from 09:00 to 13:00 Monday to Friday. The salary is 14,144.90 per annum.

This role will be responsible for cleaning the designated areas for our student accommodation including bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms, kitchens and all white goods contained in the kitchens.

This will include:

• Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpets, sweep and polish floors and clean stairs
• Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades as appropriate
• Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin store areas
• During the summer season only: Make beds, including stripping and changing sheeting collection of laundered linen from store, bag and pack laundry for collection
• Clean internal and external windows, where applicable
• Clean and wash glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils, as appropriate
• Daily liaison with the residents, Residence Managers and associated UPP staff
• Act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices at all times

We are looking for you to already have experience of cleaning in a similar environment and have great communication and organisation skills, along with an attention to detail and the passion to do an excellent job.

You will need to have a good conversational standard of the English language and an ability to read and interpret our Health & Safety guidance. You will also be prepared to work (with notice) at other sites if required and additional hours when the need arises, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends. Offers of employment are subject to satisfactory vetting, inclusive of employment referencing covering the past three years and you may be subject to additional vetting and barring checks to ensure your suitability for the role, which could include completing a basic DBS.
