Castle Village in Berkhamsted is seeking a Chef for a part-time role totaling 19 hours per week. Shifts include Friday 3:00pm–9:00pm, Saturday 9:00am–3:00pm, and Sunday 8:00am–3:00pm, reporting to the Head Chef and collaborating with the culinary team.

The ideal candidate has prior Chef experience, strong food safety knowledge, and a passion for nutritious meals for residents. Weekend availability is essential to support the rota and service.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience in a Chef role.
• Knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs for older people advantageous.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as part of rota.

Responsabilités

• Assist with preparation and cooking of high quality meals following recipes and portion controls.
• Support kitchen operations; supervise when needed and maintain food safety standards.
• Contribute to menu planning considering residents' dietary needs.
• Help manage stock levels and minimise food waste while supporting cost controls.
