Job summary

Advinia Healthcare is seeking a part-time Chef for Haydale Care Home to craft daily meals for Residents, Staff and Visitors. You’ll work 20 hours weekly, manage kitchen operations, and contribute to events from World Food Day to seasonal celebrations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• GCSE or equivalent English.
• City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking.
• Basic Food Hygiene (essential).
• Intermediate Food Hygiene (desirable).
• Previous experience in a similar environment.
• Menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control and budget experience.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Maintain food storage and stock rotation per procedures.
• Prepare and cook meals to a high standard with dietary requirements.
• Serve Residents, Staff and Visitors professionally.
• Prepare foods for events and contribute to costings.
• Adhere to Safer Food Better Business and HACCP records.
• Take full shift responsibility for catering operations.
• Help create new menus and maintain paperwork for HACCP logs.
