Advinia is recruiting a Chef at Millview Care Home in Glasgow. You’ll join a friendly catering team, preparing meals for Residents, Staff and Visitors, 28.5 hours per week, and you’ll have the chance to cater for events and themed menu days.

You’ll oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, maintain food hygiene standards, plan menus, manage stock and costs, and deliver high-quality service in a calm, social environment with great work-life balance and two days off each week.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• GCSE or equivalent English
• City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking
• Basic Food Hygiene (essential)
• Intermediate Food Hygiene (desirable)
• Previous experience in a similar environment
• Menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control and budget experience

Responsabilités

• Responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Maintaining good food storage procedures and stock rotation according to established procedures.
• Preparing, planning and cooking meals to a high standard with dietary considerations.
• Serving Residents, Staff and Visitors with food and beverage in a professional manner.
• Preparing and producing foods for events.
• Participating in food costings through cost control procedures.
• Adhering to Safer Food Better Business standards and record keeping.
• Adhering to Food Hygiene Regulations and safety procedures.
• Taking full shift responsibility for the catering operation.
• Help to create new menus ensuring meals are high quality.
• Filing paper work related to HACCP system (temperatures, logs, schedules)
