Job summary

Advinia in Haydale Care Home, Glasgow, is seeking a part-time Chef to join a dedicated catering team. You will work 20 hours weekly, preparing daily meals for Residents, Staff and Visitors, and cater for events throughout the year, including World Food Day, Christmas and Easter.

The role offers a calm environment and a strong work-life balance with two days off weekly when not full-time. You will manage day-to-day kitchen operations, maintain food safety and HACCP records, and contribute to menu

Qualifications

• GCSE English or equivalent is required.
• City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 or equivalent in basic food preparation cooking.
• Basic Food Hygiene is essential and Intermediate Hygiene is desirable.
• Must be 18 years or older and have previous kitchen experience.
• Experience in menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day kitchen operations and service.
• Maintain food storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Prepare and cook meals to a high standard, respecting dietary requests.
• Serve Residents, Staff and Visitors professionally.
• Prepare foods for events and assist with costings.
• Adhere to Safer Food Better Business and HACCP records.
• Take full shift responsibility for the catering operation.
• Help create new menus and manage paperwork for HACCP.
