Job summary

Advinia Health Care seeks an experienced Chef to lead daily kitchen operations at Millview Care Home in Glasgow. You will prepare meals for Residents, Staff and Visitors, cater for events, and maintain high service standards with a focus on dietary needs and cost control.

The role offers 28.5 hours per week in a calm environment with opportunities for menu development, teamwork, and personal growth within a trusted care provider network.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• GCSE or equivalent English.
• City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking.
• Basic Food Hygiene (essential).
• Previous experience in a similar environment.
• Menu planning, costing, ordering, stock control and budget experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Maintain food storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Prepare, plan and cook meals to high standard, accommodating dietary requirements.
• Serve Residents, Staff and Visitors professionally.
• Prepare and produce foods for events.
• Contribute to food costings and cost control.
• Adhere to Safer Food Better Business standards and records.
• Follow Food Hygiene Regulations and safety procedures.
• Take full shift responsibility for catering operations.
• Help create new menus with high-quality meals.
