Job summary

Butler Rose is recruiting a Part-Time Bookkeeper for its St Ives team. The role covers the bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, including processing invoices, bank reconciliations, and VAT returns, with hybrid working after probation (minimum two days in the office).

You will work closely with the accounts team, handle client queries, and maintain accurate records. Prior practice experience and Xero proficiency are required, with Sage training offered.

Qualifications

• Previous bookkeeping experience is essential.
• Practice experience is preferred.
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients would be advantageous.
• Experience using Xero is required.
• Experience using Sage is desirable, although training will be provided.
• Good understanding of bookkeeping processes, including VAT and bank reconciliations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Confident dealing directly with clients.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as part of an accounts team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the bookkeeping requirements of a portfolio of external clients.
• Post and process sales and purchase invoices.
• Complete bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Respond to ad hoc client queries via email, telephone and face-to-face.
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a range of clients.
• Work closely with the accounts team to ensure accurate reporting.
• Manage workload effectively and meet client deadlines.
