TC Group is hiring a Bookkeeper for its Peterborough office, joining TC Bulley Davey Ltd. The role involves delivering high-quality bookkeeping support to a diverse portfolio of clients and building strong client relationships while developing technical skills.

You will perform reconciliations, VAT filings, and liaise with HMRC; the role includes hybrid working after probation and a 37.5—hour week with supportive environment and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy practice.
• AAT qualification or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of Xero; exposure to QBO, Fathom and Dext.
• Able to work independently, liaise with clients, and collaborate within a team.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• High accuracy and attention to detail with a focus on client service.
• Enthusiastic about using software to improve efficiency.
• Professional in client interactions with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out bank reconciliations using accounting software.
• Using automation software to capture and post invoices.
• Reconciling sales and purchase ledgers regularly.
• Keeping accounting software up to date with accurate records.
• Preparing and filing VAT returns for a portfolio of clients.
• Acting as a point of contact for bookkeeping queries.
• Attending client premises to undertake on-site bookkeeping.
• Communicating with HMRC as needed and handling admin tasks.
