Job summary

Scope’s Windermere shop is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to help run daily operations, drive sales, and support a diverse team of paid staff and volunteers. The role is permanent, 14 hours per week, with two positions available at 33 Main Road, Windermere, LA23 1DX, and requires an enhanced DBS check.

Successful candidates will join a supportive team and contribute to Scope’s mission by engaging with the local community and promoting services. DBS is a condition of employment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a customer-facing role, with responsibility for supervising or leading a team within retail or service environments.
• Experience working in a target-driven environment, focusing on sales or performance goals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; IT literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of shop operations.
• Work with the Shop Manager to support, motivate, and involve paid employees and volunteers.
• Promote Scope and its services within the community.
• Drive sales and manage stock; support online selling by listing suitable items.
• Deliver excellent customer service and deputise for the shop manager in their absence.
