Cincinnatus LLC is seeking Chemistry SMEs to join a cutting-edge AI lab's research team on a part-time basis. You will contribute deep laboratory expertise to design and evaluate AI models for chemistry, including multi-step syntheses and spectral analysis.

The role involves guiding researchers, creating benchmark tasks, and ensuring data quality. Collaboration with other SMEs and flexible placement at leading labs are offered.

Formación

• PhD in chemistry or equivalent research experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on chemistry experience at a recognized organization.
• Hands-on synthesis of small molecules and multi-step routes.
• Characterization of compounds with NMR, MS, IR and HPLC/LC-MS.
• Familiarity with cheminformatics representations (SMILES/SMARTS) and AI tools.

Responsabilidades

• Guide research and engineering teams to close knowledge gaps and improve AI model performance in synthetic chemistry, reaction mechanisms, structure elucidation, and property reasoning.
• Design challenging chemistry tasks, benchmarks and training data; write solutions for multi-step route design and spectral characterization.
• Evaluate AI model outputs and diagnose errors in chemical logic and tool usage; provide clear feedback.
• Develop specifications, grading rubrics and verification processes for chemistry data produced by external teams; act as domain authority on data quality.
• Advise on experimental design, lab failure modes and chemical validity of model outputs, including molecular representations such as SMILES.
• Collaborate with other SMEs to ensure training data consistency and accuracy.
