Job summary

Cincinnatus LLC is seeking a pharmacology/ADME SME for a part-time role focused on drug discovery within an AI lab setting. You will contribute domain expertise to shape AI models for mechanism of action, ADME/Tox and PK/PD, and collaborate with scientists to ensure data quality and validity.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD with 3+ years in drug discovery, can dedicate at least 20 hours weekly, and will work cross-functionally on external teams to guide bench work and model evaluation.

Qualifications

• PhD in pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, toxicology, DMPK, biochemistry or closely related field, or equivalent research background.
• 3+ years of experience in early-to-mid stage drug discovery, pharmacology, DMPK/ADME or toxicology at a recognized organization.
• Hands-on experience analyzing experimental drug discovery data (in vitro ADME/safety, PK/PD, CRO readouts, LC-MS) to guide decisions.
• Comfortable using PK/PD or data analysis software and scientific AI tools (no coding required).

Responsibilities

• Guide research and engineering teams to close knowledge gaps and improve AI model performance in pharmacology, ADME/Tox, and PK/PD.
• Design challenging, non-searchable drug discovery tasks, benchmarks and training data; write accurate solutions to interpret assay readouts and plan optimization.
• Evaluate AI model outputs and reasoning on drug discovery tasks; diagnose errors in logic, tool usage and factual accuracy; provide written feedback.
• Develop specifications, grading rubrics and verification processes for drug discovery data produced by external teams; act as domain authority on data quality.
• Advise on assay design and quality control, experimental failure modes, and biological validity of model outputs.
• Collaborate with other SMEs to ensure consistency and accuracy in training data.
