Job summary

ISP School in Whitstable is seeking a Part-time Administrator to provide essential administrative support in a term-time, 25-hour-per-week role. The position offers a pro-rated salary, with flexibility to grow into a full-time role as pupil numbers increase.

The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, experience with SIMS, and the ability to manage budgets and deadlines. DBS checks will be completed, and the school promotes safeguarding across staff and pupils.

  • Ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understand school roles and responsibilities, and recognise your own position within these.
  • Ability to evaluate your own learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information where appropriate.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work on your own initiative

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with ISP staff and other professionals within the school, ISP centres and local authorities from Kent, Medway, Thanet and London.
  • Communicate with parents and carers by phone, text and email.
  • Receive and host visitors, maintenance staff, contractors and guests at the school.
  • Manage school correspondence, emails and phone calls.
  • Arrange and attend meetings, taking minutes as required.
  • Produce minutes for network meetings, staff meetings, briefings and inclusion meetings.
  • Manage the delegated budgets for the Whitstable site.
  • Manage petty cash for the Whitstable site.
  • Maintain school and associated documents using SIMS & BehaviourWatch.
  • Support the school’s mission by carrying out other associated duties and tasks as directed by the Headteacher from time to time.

Working Pattern: 8:30 am – 1:30 pm, Term Time Only

About Our School

ISP School is an independent specialist provision serving children and young people in Kent and Medway who live with their families, foster carers or in residential children’s homes.

Our school supports children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

We provide high-quality education, adopting a holistic and tailored approach complemented by a full range of support services for each and every one of our pupils.

We are initially looking to appoint a candidate on a part-time basis. The position is expected to develop into a full-time, term-time role as pupil numbers grow within the school.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by ISP School.
