Job summary

Heart of Worcestershire College is seeking two Academic Skills Support Mentors. These part-time roles are 14.8 hours per week for 36 weeks, with a salary up to £9,084.37 per annum including holiday pay.

The positions cover Redditch and Bromsgrove campuses, and Worcester/Malvern campuses as needed. You will support learners with LLDD, provide one-to-one or small group sessions, and assist in improving literacy and numeracy, with travel between campuses required.

Qualifications

• Support learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (LLDD).
• Work with CRQ leaders, PTs and curriculum staff to identify and support learners needing additional one-to-one or small-group support.
• Provide learning support that contributes to an outstanding student experience from start to progression.
• Support learners to improve literacy and numeracy skills.
• Assist in the development of learning materials for additional support needs.
• Co-ordinate alternative exam arrangements and support services.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality responsive support to improve attendance, retention and achievement for LLDD learners.
• Collaborate with college staff to identify learners who would benefit from targeted support.
• Offer learning support for self-referred or classroom-referred learners.
• Deliver 1:1 or small group sessions as needed.
• Support literacy and numeracy development.
• Help develop learning materials for diverse needs.
