Job summary

Recruit Build is seeking an experienced Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join our Huddersfield team on a hybrid basis. You will work on busy residential projects, from planning through construction, applying Revit or AutoCAD and contributing to planning and Building Regulations packages.

Applicants must have a RIBA Part 2 qualification with four to five years' practical experience, a strong portfolio, good communication, and the ability to manage your own workload with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• RIBA Part 2 qualification and 4–5 years' practical experience in architectural practice or construction consultancy.
• Experience contributing to live projects through technical and delivery stages.
• Strong construction knowledge and technical detailing ability.
• Experience using Revit or AutoCAD; solid architectural portfolio.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Produce design drawings, technical information and presentation material.
• Develop planning and Building Regulations packages.
• Produce and coordinate drawings or models in Revit or AutoCAD.
• Work with Architects, Technologists and external consultants.
• Attend design reviews and project meetings.
• Support site inspections, surveys and construction-stage reviews.
• Manage workload and contribute to project deadlines.
• Develop knowledge of residential refurbishment, regeneration and high-rise projects.

Experienced Part 2 Architectural Assistant

Huddersfield | Hybrid Working | Salary up to £40,000 + Excellent Benefits

Recruit Build is working with a successful architectural and construction consultancy looking to appoint an experienced Part 2 Architectural Assistant to its Huddersfield team.

This is not a graduate-level position. Candidates must be RIBA Part 2 qualified and have at least four to five years' practical experience working within an architectural practice or construction consultancy.

You will join an established team of more than 20 architectural professionals, working on new-build housing, major refurbishment, regeneration and high-rise residential schemes across the UK.

The position offers a similar level of responsibility to an Architectural Technologist role, alongside structured support towards completing Part 3.

The Opportunity

You will work across a range of RIBA stages, contributing to projects from planning and technical design through to construction and completion.

• Producing design drawings, technical information and presentation material
• Developing planning and Building Regulations packages
• Producing and coordinating drawings or models using Revit or AutoCAD
• Working closely with Architects, Architectural Technologists and external consultants
• Attending design reviews and project meetings
• Supporting site inspections, surveys and construction-stage reviews
• Resolving technical, design and coordination issues
• Managing your own workload and contributing to project deadlines
• Developing your knowledge of residential refurbishment, regeneration and high-rise projects

What We're Looking For

• RIBA Part 2 qualification
• At least four to five years' practical experience within an architectural practice or construction consultancy
• Experience contributing to live projects through the technical and delivery stages
• Good construction knowledge and technical detailing ability
• Experience using either Revit or AutoCAD
• A strong architectural portfolio
• Good communication and organisational skills
• The confidence to manage your workload and work with limited supervision

Previous experience working on high-rise residential projects would be preferable.

Experience with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, BIM processes and common data environments would also be beneficial.

Support Towards Part 3

This role would particularly suit an experienced Part 2 Architectural Assistant who has developed strong practical and technical skills but has not yet completed Part 3.

You will receive structured mentoring, relevant project experience and support towards professional qualification. Training, examination costs and relevant professional subscription fees can also be funded.
