Job summary

West Berkshire Council is seeking a Parking Officer to join our Transport and Countryside Service, delivering high-quality parking services and enforcing regulations across the district.

You will handle representations, conduct site visits, and provide guidance to residents, businesses and the public. The role requires clear communication, strong organisation, and a professional approach to challenging situations in a public-facing role.

Qualifications

• Experience in parking enforcement or a regulatory role.
• Knowledge of parking regulations and related legislation.
• Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organisational ability and ability to manage priorities.
• Problem-solving approach in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Processing parking penalty charge notices and handling representations and appeals.
• Conducting site visits and inspections to enforce parking regulations.
• Providing advice to residents, businesses and the public regarding parking issues.
• Collaborating with external contractors to ensure efficient parking enforcement.
• Assisting in developing and implementing parking policies and initiatives.
