Job summary

Away Resorts is seeking a grounds maintenance operative for The Lakes Rookley on the Isle of Wight. You will keep the resort grounds in excellent condition and operate gardening machinery with safety and awareness of guests on site.

The role requires a passion for gardening, willingness to work weekends/bank holidays, and a valid UK driving license. Training is provided and a varied, seasonal schedule offers a dynamic working environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience and a love of gardening.
• Ability to work on a shift pattern including weekends.
• Full UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds of the park to high standards.
• Operate gardening machinery safely (ride-on mowers, hedge trimmers).
• Cut grass, trim bushes, plant and tend flower beds as needed.
• Work weekends/bank holidays when required.
• Interact with guests in a friendly, professional manner.

Hours: 32 - 40 hours - Seasonal

Salary: £12.71 per hour

What you’ll be doing

You will be reporting to the Grounds & Maintenance Manager working to required timescales, with a professional and friendly attitude. You will be out and about on the Park so will encounter our guests at all times.

• Ensuring all work carried out is finished to the highest of standards.
• Operating machinery from ride on mowers to a pair of sheers. You will need to be safe in what you do and aware of your surroundings at all times.
• You could be cutting grass, trimming bushes, planting & tending to flower beds etc…. the list is endless!

One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you’ll need to work your magic on bank holidays and weekends too.

Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need

We’ll provide training, but you must:

• Previous experience and a love of gardening

• Full UK Driving License
