Join our team as a Parent Education Midwife at Barts Health NHS Trust and make a difference in the lives of expectant parents. This role is based at the Royal London Hospital and involves delivering high-quality antenatal classes and workshops to service users and their birth partners. The classes are designed to be fun, interactive, and evidence-based, aiming to empower parents and support informed decision-making regarding birth and parenting choices.
We are looking for dynamic, charismatic, and passionate individuals who are committed to educating and empowering expectant parents. In this role, you'll have opportunities to develop new skills in creative communication and antenatal class facilitation. You will be supported by a multidisciplinary team, including the Parent Education Lead Midwife, Matron, and Professional Midwifery Advocates, through various support sessions.
The role also involves providing holistic midwifery care to women requesting home births or caseload care, ensuring continuity of care from booking through to postpartum. You will work as part of a team and participate in the on-call rota to facilitate women's birth preferences. Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing healthcare support workers, student midwives, and junior staff.
