Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) at Burton On Trent Delivery Office (DE14 1BB) on a fixed term contract for 6 months. You will deliver letters and parcels on a rotating shift, 30 hours per week, across Monday to Sunday, with Saturday and Sunday work.

You’ll need a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points) and be comfortable walking long distances, working outdoors, and building relationships with customers.

Qualificações

• Able to pass a driving assessment for Royal Mail vehicles.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30:00hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 14:00/21:00*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
