Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Parcel Delivery Driver in Reading for a 9-month fixed-term contract. The role is 32 hours per week, working Wednesday to Sunday, with shifts between 12:00 and 18:00, including Saturdays and Sundays due to operational demand.

You will deliver parcels across your assigned area, interact with customers, and represent Royal Mail in a positive way while upholding company standards.

Qualifications

• A full UK manual driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• Bite-sized customer service experience is preferred.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working in the afternoon and early evenings.
• Strong focus on delivering great customer service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver parcels across the assigned area as a multi-drop driver.
• Interact with customers and act as a positive ambassador for Royal Mail.
• Securely deliver all items on your route and adhere to RM standards.

Please note: For candidate search purposes, roles offering between 35-37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role under 37 hours per week will be classified as part‑time in the employment contract.

As a Parcel Delivery Driver, you’re expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
