Job summary

Pertemps Royal Mail is seeking a Postal Delivery Driver (Temporary) in Newry. This role involves delivering letters and parcels by foot and vehicle, with outdoor duties and a hands-on approach supported by a handheld device for navigation and signatures.

The position offers up to 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday with weekend availability. A full UK manual driving licence is required and customer service flourishes in a fast-paced, community-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must have full UK manual driving licence (6 points max, clean preferred).
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Excellent time management and customer service skills.
• Previous driving/delivering experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Load and sort mail at the delivery office and prepare the vehicle.
• Deliver letters and parcels by foot and by vehicle.
• Use handheld device for navigation and signatures.
• Lift mailbags up to 16kg and parcels up to 20kg, using trolleys as needed.

Job Title: Postal Delivery Driver (Temporary)

Pay Rate: £13.69 per hour

Hours: Up to 30 hours per week

What You'll Be Doing:

• Load & Go: Start your day at the local delivery office sorting and loading your vehicle.
• On the Move: Deliver letters and parcels by foot and vehicle, walking up to 8 miles a day.
• Tech‑Savvy Delivery: Use a handheld device for route navigation and signature captures.
• Hands‑On Work: Lift and carry mailbags (up to 16kg) and parcels (up to 20kg), using delivery trolleys when needed.

What We're Looking For:

• A full UK manual driving licence (maximum of 6 points; clean preferred).
• Comfortable working outdoors through rain, shine, or snow.
• Excellent time management and customer service skills.
• Previous Driving/Delivering experience would great (but isn't essential!)
