Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Newton Abbot is seeking a part-time Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for 26 hours per week at £13.68 per hour, with overtime available. You will sort mail, deliver by van and on foot, and build relationships with customers on your route.

You’ll work on a rotating schedule, including some weekends and various routes. Full training, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van are provided.

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and able to walk long distances, climb stairs/hills, and lift 10kg+ bags.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.

Location: Newton Abbot Delivery Office, TQ12 4BT

Job type: Fixed Term (12 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 26.00 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday.

Monday to Saturday hours: 14:30 to 19:30

Sunday hours: 12:00 - 19:00

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
