Job description

We are delighted to be working with a highly successful, growing and well-established Chartered financial planning business that forms part of a larger, award-winning professional services organisation.

With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality advice and exceptional client service, the business has continued to grow through a combination of organic development and an unwavering focus on its people. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking financial planning team where technical expertise, collaboration and career development are genuinely valued.

We are looking for an experienced Paraplanner to join the team in Exeter, offering a hybrid working arrangement and a highly competitive package.

The Role

As a Paraplanner, you will work closely with Financial Planners and Administrators, providing high-quality technical and research support across a diverse range of financial planning cases.

You will play a key role in developing robust financial planning strategies, preparing detailed suitability reports and ensuring clients receive clear, accurate and compliant advice.

The role will suit an experienced Paraplanner who enjoys working on complex cases, takes pride in producing excellent work and wants to progress within a supportive and ambitious financial planning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Financial Planners and Administrators to deliver a seamless client experience.
  • Provide technical support across a broad range of financial planning matters, including pensions, investments and protection.
  • Prepare clear, accurate and compliant suitability reports and recommendations.
  • Assist with the development of financial planning strategies and complex client cases.
  • Carry out detailed technical and product research using approved tools and resources.
  • Review fact finds, risk profiles and supporting documentation, identifying any gaps or inconsistencies.
  • Utilise financial planning software, cashflow modelling tools and CRM systems effectively.
  • Keep up to date with FCA requirements, taxation developments, legislation and changes across the financial planning market.
  • Contribute ideas and improvements to processes and ways of working across the team.
  • Support and share knowledge with less experienced colleagues where appropriate.
About You

We are looking for someone with solid experience within a paraplanning environment who is ready to take the next step in their career.

You will ideally have:

  • Strong experience working as a Paraplanner within a financial planning environment.
  • CII Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning, or equivalent.
  • Strong technical knowledge across pensions, investments and protection.
  • Experience producing detailed suitability reports and supporting complex financial planning cases.
  • A sound understanding of FCA regulations, compliance and client outcomes.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills, with strong attention to detail.

This role would be particularly well suited to an experienced Paraplanner looking for greater responsibility, more technically challenging work and a clear route for progression within a growing organisation.

What's on Offer

In return, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £50,000 depending on experience, together with a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Hybrid working
  • Strong employer pension
  • Group life assurance
  • Group income protection
  • Buy and sell annual leave
  • Full support for market examinations and professional qualifications
  • Ongoing training, development and career progression opportunities
  • Health and wellbeing support
  • Enhanced family-friendly benefits
  • Access to a range of employee discounts and wellbeing initiatives
  • A supportive and collaborative working environment within an established and growing business
The Company

You will be joining a highly respected and successful financial planning business with an established presence in the South West and a strong track record of growth.

The wider organisation is an award-winning professional services business with a substantial client base and an excellent reputation across its sector. Despite its size and success, the culture remains collaborative and people-focused, with a genuine commitment to developing and retaining talented individuals.

The financial planning division is continuing to expand, creating excellent opportunities for individuals who want to build a long-term career within a professional, ambitious and supportive environment.
