A&O Shearman are seeking a Paralegal – Data Privacy Analyst to join the Data Privacy Team in Belfast. The role involves supporting AI and data governance programmes, data analysis for regulatory compliance, and maintaining privacy documentation across global teams.

A law degree and strong IT skills are essential. The successful candidate will handle individual rights requests, coordinate with stakeholders, and contribute to policy development while working in a collaborative, small team

Qualifications

Requires a law degree and professional IT skills with MS Office applications.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills at all levels, including senior stakeholders.
Proven ability to work independently, manage a busy workload and prioritise.
Strong attention to detail and collaborative approach within a small team.
Interest in data privacy, cyber and AI with desire to develop in this area.

Responsibilities

Supporting the work of the Data Privacy Team, including AI and data governance programmes.
Gathering, analysing and interpreting data to support advisory and operational work, including handling individual rights requests.
Maintaining and reporting on documentation under Data Protection Laws, liaising with global teams.
Managing and maintaining privacy software for GDPR compliance and record-keeping.
Triaging requests, addressing common queries and coordinating with the team as needed.
Contributing to development of global data privacy policies, pro-forma docs, and standards.
