Job summary

A&O Shearman in Belfast is hiring a Paralegal – Data Privacy Analyst to join the Data Privacy Team. The role focuses on supporting the team with AI and data governance programmes, handling data requests and maintaining GDPR compliance documentation.

The ideal candidate has a law degree and strong IT and communication skills, with a proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced legal environment. This is a permanent, on-site position in BT6.

Responsibilities

• Support the Data Privacy Team, including AI and data governance programmes.
• Gather, analyse and interpret data to support advisory work and individual rights requests.
• Maintain documentation under Data Protection Laws and demonstrate compliance.
• Manage privacy software for GDPR compliance and record-keeping.
• Triaging requests and seeking team support as needed.
• Contribute to development of global data privacy policies and guidance.
• Maintain regulatory registrations and notifications.
• Prepare communications, presentations and training materials.
• Support the privacy compliance programme globally.
• Coordinate logs, records and trackers for regulatory compliance.
• Conduct research to support the team and global business.
